Welcome to the Rotweiler family web site. The site is maintained by the Rotweiler Family Association which now has a dues-paying membership of over 3000, largely in the United States. We hope that any person with the Rotweiler surname, or who can demonstrate a relatively close relationship through blood or marriage, will apply for membership (click on "contacts" below).
The origins of the Rotweilers are lost in the Central European past. One branch of the Rotweiler's celebrated the 451st anniversary of their coming to Norway in 1997. Another branch of the family remains in Germany where they have become important in dog breeding. A third came to America from Norway in the nineteenth century.
